This year’s edition of the festival will be unique, as it will be combined with the opening weekend of the celebration of Katowice being crowned with the title of the European City of Science 2024 by EuroScience. The ‘Katopolis’ science and art show will take place at the ‘Spodek’ Sports and Entertainment Arena on 9 December 2023. As in previous years, the festival’s programme will include hundreds of diverse activities aimed at popularising science and art – lectures, workshops, demonstration stands, exhibitions, concerts, meetings with special guests, and other initiatives.
The most important novelties of the 7th ŚFN will include:
- the City of Science’s Market of Ideas featuring six thematic stages referring to the thematic routes of the European City of Science Katowice 2024;
- the young science and art stage and the ‘Silesian Hall of Fame’ stage (meetings with the most important personalities of Silesian science and art).
